What To Expect For Microblading

Preparing For Your Appointment

  • If you normally wax or thread, get it done at least 3 days prior to your procedure and not any later.
  • Avoid chemical peels for at least 4 weeks before your appointment.
  • Discontinue tanning one week prior to appointment.
  • If you have a sunburn or flaking skin- we will have to reschedule. Please, give 48 hours notice to reschedule or you may forfeit your deposit.
  • Do not drink alcohol, take aspirin or ibuprofen before your procedure, you will not be able to take lidocaine very well, it thins the blood & makes skin more sensitive.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding you can’t get this done due to what you put in your body might affect the baby.
  • Make sure to stay out of the sun for a month afterwards, since the sun is like bleach to the tattoo. Wear a high SPF r cover your face.
  • If you have an active cystic acne breakout around the area, ecezema, psoriasis, etc we will not be able to microblade. Make sure you are not having any flare ups.
  • You have to be off blood thinners a month before your appointment & have to wait 2 months afterwards to get back on it.
  • I can’t microblade if you have an autoimmune disease or cancer. If you are finished with your Chemotherapy we have to wait 8 months before microblading. I will also need a doctors note stating it has been 8 months.
  • If you are proned to keloid scarring, this is not for you.
  • You have to be off acutane for 6 months & have to bring a doctors note stating you have been.
  • I can’t microblade over broken capillaries or a huge puffy vein.
  • If you get Botox done you have to wait 2 weeks because of inflammation.
  • I can’t microblade over a mole or unhealed scar because the pigment won’t retain.
  • People with diabetes or thyroidism heal more slowly. So, your touch up will have to be within 5-6 weeks & your microblading won’t last as long as others due to medications.
  • I can’t microblade if you have HIV or Hepatitis because you won’t heal as fast & there will be a higher risk of infection.
  • You have to off retinol/retina for 2 weeks.

Day Of The Appointment

  • Please wear makeup except over your brows as we will be taking before photos.
  • Please have your cell phone turned off.
  • No chewing gum
  • No moving around
  • Make sure the eyebrows are clean and exfoliated.

After Your Appointment

  • The tattooed area will appear to be darker, bolder in color, and more sharply defined immediately after your appointment. This will continue 3 days or so after the appointment.
  • Swelling and redness is normal and should subside within 48 hours.
  • In some cases, swelling may last around the eye area for up to 3 days but should not prevent you from working or socializing.
  • The treated area may feel a bit like sunburn afterwards but there should be minimal discomfort.
  • Shower or bathe normally, but avoid using any soaps or cleansers on the treated area for the first day as they can be detrimental to the bonding process.
  • Make sure to use your aftercare serum &  a mild fragrance-free facial cleanser twice a day for a week after the 1st 24 hours. You will have a barrier cream for the 1st 24 hours.

Aftercare

  • Wash your hands thoroughly before touching the tattooed area.
  • Clean by rinsing with mild soap (no fragrances), lukewarm water and patting dry with a disposable paper towel as needed.
  • Apply the aftercare serum I will give you twice a day for a week with a clean Q-tip.
  • DO NOT USE Neosporin, Vaseline, ointments, peroxide, or alcohol based products.
  • DO NOT pick or scratch at the dry skin and let it fall off naturally.
  • Picking can cause scarring and premature loss of pigment.
  • IMPORTANT: Once the flakes have fallen off, a shiny layer of healing skin will completely cover the hair strokes. It will appear as though the eyebrows are gone. Within 1-2 weeks, the hair strokes will slowly reappear at a lighter shade as your skin regenerates.
  • DO NOT apply make-up to the tattooed area for the first 2 weeks. Chemicals of any kind may interfere with the healing and color of your tattoo.
  • No facials, sauns, swimming or soaking the tattoo while it is healing.
  • Do not dye or tweeze the area during healing.
  • Avoid blowing your nose during lip procedures to avoid staph infection

Long Term Care

BASIC CARE

  • If you wish to prolong the longevity of your cosmetic tattoo, it is recommended to continue with additional treatments after your initial session.
  • Additional sessions are at a lower cost within your first year of the initial procedure.
  • Most will see fading or complete loss of pigment around 2-3 years.

SUN EXPOSURE

  • Despite the bodies natural ability to process pigment, exposure to the sun will cause color loss and lighten the pigment.
  • It is important to protect yourself from the sun by using sunscreen and wearing large sunglasses and hats.
  • Rinse and dry the area when you come into contact with chlorine.

LASER TREATMENTS

  • If you are having laser resurfacing or laser hair removal after obtaining your cosmetic tattoo, please notify your technician.
  • Laser treatments may darken, lighten, and/or overall discolor your cosmetic tattoo.
  • Glycolic acid, retin-a, face peels, and exfoliations must avoid the tattood area as they may alter the color or appearence of the cosmetic tattoo.

Before Your Eyelash Appointment

Before the Eyelash Application

  • There is a 48 hour patch test required before applying the full set.
  • Services are by appointment only.
  • Take as cash and Venmo.
  • No refunds.
  • Remove all makeup, oil, and creams from the eyes and lashes.
  • Do not use waterproof mascara 3 days prior because it causes a film over the lashes which can lessen the bond of the adhesive.
  • Do not use eyelash curlers since this crimps the lashes which can also lessen the bond of the adhesive.
  • Please be on time. I have clients scheduled back to back.
  • I am not available most of the time to answer the phone since I am with another client. Please text me. If you are having a hard time finding the salon use Google Maps.
  • Watch caffeine intake since this can cause the eyes to flutter and make it hard to apply lashes.
  • It is a 50/50 partnership. You take care of your lashes at home and come in with clean lashes & I fill them in for you. There will be an up charge for unclean lash extensions.
  • This is a luxurious investment, please take care of your investment by following the rules.

During The Eyelash Application

  • Please turn off or put all electronic devices on silent mode.
  • Please remove shoes.
  • Please do not squint during the application process since this can cause your lashes to stick together and underneath the eye pads & undo all my hard work.
  • Keep still and eyes closed during the process.
  • No chewing gum.
  • Stay in communication with me if you are feeling any discomfort.
  • RELAX! :)

After Care Instructions:

- Immediately upon leaving your appointment at Mesmerize, you can shower, go in the sauna, or do hot yoga.

-Continue to use your oil-based facial products. The adhesive is oil-proof, humidity resistant & cures instantly!

- UpH balanced, hypo-allergenic, organic, vegan friendly lash & eye cleanser with your lash cleansing brush gently every night to keep the lashes healthy, prevent premature shedding, or any buildup of pollutants, debris, makeup or dead skin. Wash cleanser off, pat dry, fan/air dry lashes then brush them out with a clean lash brush.

- Use a drop of extra virgin olive/grapeseed oil on your clean lash brush to condition your lashes & keep them flexible. Do this at least once a week.

- Avoid pulling, twisting or picking your lash extensions.

- Avoid eye products that contain solvent-like ingredients such as glycols & carbonates. Doing so may reduce the lifespan of your lashes.

- Brush your lashes every morning to avoid twisting, tangling, and to remove any loose lashes that might have shed.

- The lash extensions come curled so avoid using any curlers as this will cause lash damage.

- Avoid any mascara, any waterproof eye makeup  as this will cause the extensions to fall out sooner and will leave an invisible film on the lashes that will cause the glue not to adhere properly.

- Please come to your appointment with freshly cleaned lashes so that the lashes will adhere properly and have more time for your appointment to fill your lashes than worrying about cleaning them. This is a 50/50 partnership. Take care of them at home.

- This is a luxurious investment, make sure to protect your investment and follow all the rules.

- Make sure to schedule your fill ins every 2-3 weeks!

Thank You,
